NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) is Australia's national standards and accreditation body for translators and interpreters. Our Persian translators hold NAATI Certified credentials.
NAATI certifies Persian (Farsi) translators. It is one of the higher-demand languages in Australia's migration and settlement context.
Right-to-left script: Persian is written from right to left. Our translators ensure that all translated documents maintain correct text direction, formatting, and layout, which is particularly important for official documents and certificates that need to mirror the original format.
Arabic (Persian variant / Perso-Arabic) script: Persian uses the Arabic (Persian variant / Perso-Arabic) script. Our translation process ensures that all characters are correctly rendered and that the final document maintains professional formatting suitable for submission to government agencies, courts, and immigration authorities.
All NAATI-certified Persian translations from Sydney Translation include the translator's NAATI stamp, signature, and certification number. Learn more about our NAATI translation services and how certification works.

Persian is natively known as فارسی and belongs to the Indo-European, Iranian, Western Iranian language family.
There are approximately 110 million total speakers worldwide.
Persian is known as Farsi in Iran, Dari in Afghanistan, and Tajiki in Tajikistan, though all three are mutually intelligible varieties of the same language.
Persian has one of the world's oldest literary traditions, with masterpieces by poets such as Ferdowsi, Hafez, Rumi, and Saadi spanning over a thousand years.
Unlike Arabic, Persian is an Indo-European language, though it uses a modified Arabic script and has borrowed extensively from Arabic vocabulary.
The Persian alphabet has 32 letters, including four letters not found in Arabic: pe, che, zhe, and gaf.
Persian served as the lingua franca of the Islamic world and South Asia for centuries, and was the court language of the Mughal Empire in India.
The Iranian-born community in Australia numbers over 80,000, with significant populations also from Afghanistan (Dari speakers). Concentrated in Sydney (North Shore, Western Sydney), Melbourne (Glen Waverley, Dandenong), and Perth, the community includes both skilled migrants and humanitarian entrants. Nowruz (Persian New Year) is widely celebrated.
